I’m now TV-less

Not actually without any TVs (I have 3), but without satellite or cable or even a working antenna. I got sick and tired of paying 60+ dollars a month to fund a company who doesn’t seem to care about it’s customers. I’ve called on numerous occasions about signal and receiver issues and they’ll never send anyone out without charging. The dish was “professionally” installed by them (well, a subcontractor) this time, and it’s still not lined up correctly, yet they want to charge *me* to re-align it since I obviously climbed up there and moved it ever so slightly (2 of the 3 satellites register 95%, the other one is 60%).
Anyways, hopefully this will let me get around to a few of the projects I wanted to get done around the house and maybe finish some of my Wii games. The guys at work are also talking up Netflix pretty heavily, so I might try them out as well. Hopefully this is good riddance to scheduled TV as I know it.

Why do people insist on putting www. before their email addresses? And even worse, I’ve seen this on business cards more than once. Especially car salesmen. How exactly am I supposed to email you if you think your email address is www.john@carsalesplace. Here’s the answer, I won’t even try.

Yay for the Wii!!!!

So I just picked up my copy of Madden for the Wii along with a 2000 point Wii Points Card. I noticed they had a stack of Zelda, but for some reason they wouldn’t let me have mine. Not that it would have done much good (much like the 2 items already in my possession).
Sunday can’t come soon enough…

Small Paper Towels

If automatic paper towel dispensers were configured to give a 20% longer towel I wouldn’t have to use 2 sets to fully dry my hands. Damn tree killers.

Big mouth barking uncontrollably

I’ll take a second to report that my neighbor’s daughter is currently barking at the other neighbor’s dog and has been since I got home about 40 minutes ago. What makes it worse is that even shutting all the windows doesn’t keep me from hearing it hundreds of feet away.

Speed Control Devices

So the City of Erie has decided to *finally* synchronize the lights on 12th street (for those of you who don’t live here, it’s a main east-west road). In the process, they have dug trenches at every block in the mile or so that they’re planning on synchronizing. Not only is the process not completed yet, but now there’s a speed bump every block!
